Nordex wins 77MW Romania turbine order

In brief

Nordex has secured an order from Swedish renewable energy developer OX2 to supply and install 11 N175/6.X wind turbines for the 77 MW Urleasca project in Romania. The contract also includes a 35-year Premium Service agreement. The ready-to-build wind farm has been sold by OX2 to Norwegian renewable energy company Scatec, while OX2 will remain responsible for overseeing the full construction phase.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with commissioning planned for the second half of 2028. Located near Urleasca in Brăila County, around 150 kilometres northeast of Bucharest, the project has secured a long-term Contract for Difference with the Romanian state. The order strengthens Nordex’s presence in Romania, where the turbine manufacturer has contracted more than 500 MW of capacity in recent months.
